New York's winter has been super unforgiving this year and it reflects in my ability to maintain consistent posts, but none the less when you get really inspired to figure out how to make it work. So on one of the coldest days I ever experienced in my 27 years of living I dragged my boyfriend/cameraman and my muse/friend out into the wilderness of Brooklyn to shoot. Needless to say it was a painful/thrilling experience. At any rate check out my friend and owner of Babylon Cartel rocking some of our new looks from our Spring Collection.

IFB CONFERENCE

IFB Conference 2012, what to say....ummmmm, oh yeah amazing. I ended up running into Katrina from Beach&Dress, listened to several informative panels, met a million great bloggers and joined the DC blogger network. I would say that the overall event was successful and I intend to go to more blogger networking events. For people like me who are really lost in translation when it comes to building your brand, these types of events actually give me insight on how to grow and nurture my brand.

There is actually a crazy story on how I ended up at this event. I randomly checked my IFB account, the day prior to the conference, and learned that the event was being held in NYC.  The conference fell a day before NYFW began and you know what...I actually fucking contemplated not going. Stupid right? I am so glad that lazy Verlyncia decided to rest her loins and proactive Verlyncia took over for the week. It was so worth the Megabus trip.

MOTIVATION

Sometimes I underestimate myself and sometimes I feel like I am right on track. After listening and watching this little narrative it gave me a little confidence and motivation to keep on pushing regardless of what anyone says because only I can see the bigger picture. Everyone will probably see the bigger picture closer to me reaching my dreams.

Reflecting on summer memories it seems like it was only yesterday. Well, hopefully summer of 2012 brings prosperity and beautiful people to my life.

On a gloomy day I decided to get a treat to put a little smile on my face. Gluten free chocolate cupcake from Cake Love was what I set my heart on and I must say it was worth the drive.
